Overview

Test planning defines scope, approach, and coverage for a piece of work before testing begins — during sprints and for complete features. It sets the testing SLAs, the sprint and feature testing flow, regression needs, and the testing strategy agreed with the QA Lead up front.

Why This Exists

Testing without a plan means uneven coverage and surprises at the end. Agreeing scope, SLAs, and strategy before work starts makes testing predictable and lets QA commit to timelines with confidence.
