Overview
AZOTH is a structured, versioned record of how engineering decisions get made, principles, the decisions that derive from them, and the standards those decisions constrain. This page explains the three layers, the graph and metadata models behind every entry, and the limits of the evidence it is built on.
Why This Exists
Engineering knowledge usually survives in two places: the code, and one person's memory. The code records what was done and says almost nothing about why, or about which alternatives were rejected and for what reason. Memory covers the rest until it doesn't. AZOTH exists because that gap has a measurable cost. One project in this family produced four months and hundreds of commits of original work, recorded none of its reasoning, and went dormant. Everything transferable about it survives only because other projects reconstructed it afterwards. Two of its capabilities were lost outright and independently rebuilt weeks later, without the refinements the first version had.
