Overview
Severity describes how badly a defect affects the system; priority describes how soon it must be fixed. This document defines the shared classification scale and the rule for what blocks a merge versus what can be deferred.
Why This Exists
Without a shared scale, triage becomes an argument. Separating severity (impact) from priority (urgency) lets the team agree what must be fixed now, what can wait, and what blocks a release — consistently.
